GRAVITY
Bombing downhill on a mountain bike with my friends is one of my favorite things. However coordinating shuttles with our subpar rat pack of cars to avoid crowded lift access trails is a nightmare. There are many people with proper vehicles who would be willing to make extra money shuttling a bunch of stoked mountain bikers up and down a mountain. Gravity is a React-Redux App that allows riders to view mountain bike trails in a targeted area and book a private shuttle to assist their crew in lapping the trail.
This MVP was a solo venture built and tested in six days with the goal of creating a cohesive user experience with proper react and redux structure. Pairing down an intricate application concept with one complete user story to fit within this time frame was the biggest challenge. Future iterations include more locations and detailed downhill trail data, the incorporation of SendGrid, user accounts for bikers to save favorite trails and a client side where drivers can post their personal booking information. I also envision a winter version of Gravity for backcountry skiing.
Areas Of Focus:
Write clean well-refactored code using ES6 syntax.
Make informed design decisions to create a user-friendly application.
Perform network requests with the MTB Project api.
Build with React to create clean and re-useable components.
Utilize Redux’s lifecycle.
Solidify concepts with asynchronous code and testing.
